Cake Wrecks here I come....

Trying to visit with my kids while in town and run around with them doesn't make for a whole lot of time for cakes. My grandson and I baked a cake together (mix) and I iced it with choc chip frosting (prepared) and then played around a bit with Sugarveil and gumpaste. Let me just say that all this rain and the extra warmth in my house didn't help me any but oh well...I don't think it is terrible for a first attempt of someone with NO EXPERIENCE at all.

Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics but I am a busy Gussie and tomorrow is our Open House/BBQ for the kids to Welcome them home. They will be stationed in Seattle Sector for the next FOUR YEARS!!!!

  1. It looks fantastic! You did a great job, I'm so proud of you!! I can almost taste it. The Sugarveil lace looks amazing. Did you cut the space needle with your Cricut Cake? What cartridge did you use? I love the font...what is the name of it?

Have a blast with the kids. I'm so glad you are going to have family closer to you for the next four years!

  2. The "Seattle" (Sugarveil)and Space Needle (Gumpaste)came from the Destinations cartridge and the Welcome Home (Gumpaste) is from the Cake Basics cartridge

  3. So, what are the differences in the sugarveil and the gumpaste? How do they compare? (workability, texture, taste, etc.)
