French Manor Cartridge and Edible Pearls

Something about this cartridge made me think of french pastries and I really wanted to use my Cricut Cake Machine - Martha Stewart Edition :)

It started out being just a plain chocolate cake

I couldn't figure out how to make the chocolate look elegant like I had in my head so I covered it in some nice WHITE buttercream and then it just started coming together.

I decorated it in some lightly colored Cricut Gumpaste that cut like a DREAM and I was able to get some really intricate cuts.
Then I got the fosters in bed and started putting on the Wilton Edible Pearls with tweezers. I may have went a tad overboard, but I really like the end results.

The pics aren't that great since I had to use my camera phone. As I mentioned my fosters show some very undesirable behaviors when they see a camera due to past abuse/trauma involving photos.

Hmmm maybe next cake I will take pics step by step and show how I do things. I am NOT in anyway shape or form a professional and I have very little experience actually. I just watched YouTube videos and taught myself. Of course having a Cricut Cake and lots of PATIENCE sure does help!

PICS from the GOOD camera - You can see it isn't all that "perfect"

  8. Wow! Fantastic work! You are so talented at this- it's absolutely gorgeous! And the fact that it's so perfect and you can whip it out while the kids are napping, or in time for dinner, or... whatever other lines you've given me (multi-tasking, at that, since you can text and create simultaneously!) :-p Ugh... I'm feeling inadequate! Just kidding! You're so amazing... the only thing that would make it MORE amazing is if you send me a piece of it in the mail. Express delivery, please :-D Love it!

  15. OMW you are INCREDIBLE!!! I want to be like you when I grow up. Sooo, how much do you charge for your cakes. My daughter is turning 5 on the 11th and I'd rather get one of yours that from costco or something like that. (just a small one too, there aren't too many of us).
